Mixed Nuts take home the Co-Ed Draft Tournament title

Congratulations to Mixed Nuts on taking home the title in the very first Co-Ed Draft Tournament! They overcame a tough team in Caught Redhanded who topped their group going unbeaten, it was a close game to start with but the Nuts ran away with it in the end 24-9.

What a fantastic day of softball with plenty of close games, great plays and even better team spirit on display.

A massive thank you to everyone who entered, embraced the draft format and made the tournament such a success. It was brilliant to see players from our leagues mixing together, making new teammates and having a laugh. Congratulations to every player and team, you all played your part in making the tournament a memorable one!

A special thank you goes out to Lauren Mitchell for organising the tournament, as well as all of the volunteers, scorers, umpires and everyone who helped behind the scenes. Tournaments like this simply wouldn’t happen without your time and effort.

Judging by the smiles, the atmosphere and the positive feedback, we’d say this was a huge hit… and we have a feeling the Co-Ed Draft Tournament could become a firm fixture in the Guernsey Softball calendar for years to come!

Euro’s Post Tournament Blues

What an incredible week of softball! As the dust (clay) settles, the post tournament blues are kicking in. After 18 months of hard work, commitment and dedication, it’s hard to believe it’s all over just like that…

We finish with a 5–5 record, recording victories over Belgium, Lithuania, Poland, Norway and Poland again to secure 7th place.

There were some incredibly close and hard fought losses, particularly against Ireland and silver medallists Germany. On another day, the results could have gone the other way and we may have found ourselves fighting for a bronze medal.

For an island of just 65,000 people, we’ve shown that Guernsey can compete with the very best in Europe. We’re immensely proud of what this team has achieved and are excited for what the future holds!

A huge congratulations to every member of the squad. You represented Guernsey with pride, gave everything on the diamond, and inspired everyone supporting you both from home and abroad.

A special thank you to those who made this trip possible, without your support it simply wouldn’t have happened – Giggsy, Jussie, Id, GSA, Sarnian Roofing, Baseball Outlet, Printed in GSY, Boombah, Kay, Ben, Sinead, Kaileigh, Kirstie and Matt.

Finally, thank you to our incredible supporters. Whether you travelled to cheer us on in person or followed every game from home, your encouragement meant the world to us. Reading your messages and comments throughout the tournament kept us going, and we’re so grateful.

This may be the end of one journey, but it’s only the beginning of the next.

Guernsey place 7th in Co-Ed European Championship after 16 year hiatus

WHAT A WEEK!

Guernsey place 7th at the WBSC Europe Softball Co-Ed Slowpitch European Championship after a 12-8 victory over Poland.

It’s been 16 years since Guernsey last entered a team into this particular competition and 7th is a fantastic starting point that we will be looking to improve on in the future.

More to follow later this week…

Healthcare Hitters take home Corporate Tournament trophy number 2

Another year, another Corporate Tournament success!

Firstly, we would like to say a massive thank you to all of the companies who entered. These tournaments are not possible without you and your players. We hope that everybody enjoyed themselves and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future, you all played very well!

And as always, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers, coaches, organisers etc who helped make the day run smoothly, it is greatly appreciated.

A big congratulations goes out to Healthcare Group (Healthcare Hitters) on their second trophy, not only did they win this year, they also won weekend 2 back in 2024!

The Guernsey Raiders / Guernsey Raiders Ladies faced Healthcare Hitters in the group stage and narrowly missed out on a win in a 5-6 result, but they won all of their other games and made it through to the final to face them again, it was closely contested and ended with Healthcare Hitters taking home the trophy after a 18-14 victory.

Well done to Ross (Healthcare Hitters) and Tiegan (GRL) on winning your MVP awards from the final, you both put on a great performance.

Silver medal success for Jake and Josh

It was silver medal success for Jake Elmy and Josh Smith who were selected to play for Great Britain in the recent Men’s Slowpitch European Championships, hosted in Antwerp, Belgium.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the boys live in action.

The Guernsey Softball community are so proud of your achievement, congratulations both of you!
